Dundalk to Dublin City by Coach or Minibus
Groups from Dundalk go to Dublin for concerts at the 3Arena, conferences at the Convention Centre, matches at Croke Park and nights at the theatre. The M1 brings the coach to the north side of the city in a little over an hour. The return after a late finish is the part to plan.

The M1 and the Port Tunnel
The coach runs south on the M1 and passes the toll on the Drogheda section between Monasterboice and Gormanston. Near the city, the M1 connects to the Dublin Port Tunnel, which comes out by the port and the Docklands. A coach seating over 25 passengers pays no toll in the tunnel. For the north and east of the city centre, that route avoids most of the streets around Drumcondra and the North Strand.
Docklands and the city centre
Coaches can wait at the National Transport Authority's Docklands coach park, fifty bays reached via Park Lane, a short walk from the 3Arena and the Convention Centre. For the city centre, coaches set down at the signed coach stops; the on-street coach parking spaces have a two-hour limit and are not for loading. Bus gates on Bachelors Walk, Aston Quay and College Green limit the routes a coach can take, and your driver plans around them.
Late finishes and match days
Concert and match crowds all leave at once. Agree a collection point with the driver that is a few minutes' walk from the venue, away from the crush. For the biggest Croke Park fixtures, the Garda traffic plan bars coach drop-off and pickup on the main roads by the ground, and coaches have been directed to the Docklands to park. For a long day, the driver's hours rules apply, so a late return may need planning.
Where does the coach wait during a concert?
Usually at the NTA Docklands Coach Park, near the 3Arena. The driver tells you the collection point before you leave the coach.
How long is the trip?
About an hour and ten minutes on a clear run. Rush hour on the M1 and M50 approaches, or a big event in the city, will lengthen it.
Can we go to Croke Park by coach?
Yes, but expect a walk. On major match days coaches cannot set down on the main roads near the stadium.
