Dundalk to Dublin Airport by Coach or Minibus
For a group flying out of Dublin, Dundalk is an easy start: about an hour south on the M1 to the airport. The coach sets everyone down outside Terminal 2. What needs care is the departure time, especially for a holiday group on an early-morning flight with a lot of luggage.

Down the M1
The coach joins the M1 south of Dundalk and stays on it to the airport junction. Between Monasterboice and Gormanston, around Drogheda, the motorway is tolled, and the coach passes through the toll plaza. South of Drogheda the traffic builds as the M1 nears Dublin, particularly on weekday mornings. An early flight usually means an empty road, which helps; a midday departure on a Friday may need more margin.
Set-down at the terminal
Any coach may drop departing passengers on the inner departures road at Terminal 2, right outside the check-in hall. Parking there is not allowed, so bags come out of the hold quickly and the coach leaves. Anyone checking in at Terminal 1 makes the short walk over. If your group is split between terminals, say so when you book.
Luggage and timing
Holiday and sports groups carry more than people expect: suitcases, kit bags, golf clubs, buggies. Give the operator a realistic bag count, because it decides between a minibus and a coach. Start from the time check-in closes, take off the hour on the road and a margin for loading, and you have the pickup time in Dundalk. For a school group, add time for a roll call before the coach leaves.
How early should we leave Dundalk?
Take the latest check-in time, subtract the hour's drive and add a margin for traffic and loading. The operator will suggest a time once they have the flight details.
Does the coach drop at Terminal 1?
The drop is at Terminal 2, on the inner departures road. People flying from Terminal 1 walk over from there.
Is there a toll on the way?
Yes, the M1 toll around Drogheda. How tolls are handled is shown on the quote.
