Tralee, the county town of Kerry, is the other short transfer from Kerry Airport. The vehicle collects your group outside the terminal at Farranfore and takes the N22 north-west to Tralee. The road is simple; what needs planning is the hotel drop in the town, especially in festival week.

The pickup at Farranfore
Kerry Airport sits between Killarney and Tralee, roughly the same distance from each. Its bus terminus is directly outside the terminal, and that is where a pre-booked minibus or coach loads. The airport is small, so a group comes through arrivals quickly once the bags are off. A group basing itself in Tralee for the Dingle Peninsula can land here and be at the hotel soon after. Pass the flight number and landing time to the operator, and name one person in the group the driver can contact.
On the road to Tralee
The coach leaves the airport on the N23, joins the N22 at Farranfore and follows it to the Tralee bypass. There are no tolls. Tralee's hotels are mainly in the town centre and along Ballyard and the Killarney road, which a coach reaches first on this approach, with more out at Fenit on Tralee Bay. A drop on the Killarney road side of town is quicker than one in the centre, where the streets are tighter. The driver confirms the stopping point at each hotel.
Rose of Tralee week
The Rose of Tralee festival takes over the town in August. The Mall and Bridge Street close to traffic for the duration, and Denny Street, The Square and nearby streets close in the evenings. Scheduled buses are delayed, and the stops at the Ashe Memorial Hall on Denny Street are not served. If your group lands during the festival, ask the hotel which entrance stays open to vehicles, and book early, because the town fills up.
Is Kerry Airport nearer to Tralee or to Killarney?
It is about the same distance from both, a drive of 15 to 20 minutes either way, which means a group can stay in either town and keep the airport run short.
We are travelling on to Dingle. Can the transfer go straight there?
Yes. Dingle is roughly 50 km further on along the N86, so the vehicle can carry on past Tralee. Tell the operator at the quote stage so the longer run and the luggage are planned in.
Should a golf group book more seats than it has golfers?
Often, yes. Club bags take hold space that cases would otherwise use, so give the operator the number of golf bags as well as the number of passengers.
