Ennis to Limerick by Coach or Minibus
Ennis to Limerick runs south down the M18 and N18 corridor, past Shannon Airport and Bunratty, and into the city from the north-west. It is a short, direct transfer, and most of the questions are about where in Limerick you need to be.

The corridor
Your coach joins the M18 south of Ennis, passes Newmarket-on-Fergus and the Shannon junction, and continues on the N18 dual carriageway past Bunratty. Coaches for the centre leave the dual carriageway and come in along the Ennis Road, crossing the Shannon into the city. That direct run is toll-free. The Limerick Tunnel, which is tolled, carries the N18 under the river to the southern ring road, and the driver uses it only for places south of the city.
Stops in the city
Limerick's main sights sit close to the river. King John's Castle is on King's Island, off Nicholas Street, with St Mary's Cathedral nearby, and the Hunt Museum is in the Custom House. Colbert Station, for trains to Dublin, Cork and Galway, is south of the centre. The right set-down varies by venue, and your driver will say where the group gets off at each.
Match days
TUS Gaelic Grounds is on the Ennis Road itself, so Clare supporters reach it before the city centre. Thomond Park, home of Munster Rugby, is on the same north side of the river. On big match days the streets around both grounds fill early and some close; ask the operator to plan the drop-off and the after-match pick-up around the traffic arrangements for that day.
Vehicle choice
A 16-seater suits a club or a family; a 29 to 35-seat midi coach or a 49-seater suits a supporters' group or a school. Because the run is short, many groups book a same-day return for shopping, a match or a concert. University Concert Hall is on the University of Limerick campus at Castletroy, on the far side of the city, which adds time through traffic.
Is there anything worth stopping at on the way?
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is directly on the route, a few minutes past the Shannon junction. Groups often pair a morning at Bunratty with an afternoon in Limerick.
Would the train be quicker?
There is a rail link from Ennis to Limerick Colbert. A coach is the better fit for groups with luggage or kit, or for a destination away from the station such as a stadium or the university.
